AbstractThe aim of this article is to identify characteristicsof presentation of artificial intelligence inthe films Ex Machina (2015) and Uncanny (2015),and the analysis of ideas about possible romanticrelationships between humans and artificialintelligence agents in the context of post‑humanand affect theories. The key categories used inthe analysis are: „witnessing”, used in the contextof the Turing test, and „affect” as understood bySilvan Tomkins. The article tries to show thatcontemporary film presentations of artificial intelligenceare part of a broader post‑humanresearch, pointing to the equal roles of humanand non‑humanentities, as well as to the essenceof the category of affect in the creation andunderstanding of artificial intelligence.
